At the start of a new year people take this opportunity to change things they do not like, be it weight, career, relationships and embark on their New Year resolutions but sadly fail within weeks (if not sooner) - sound familiar? Then read on...
Resolutions are often a spur of the moment thing that hold little or no weight to the maker and are doomed to fail from the start. More often than not we don't even write them done, make unrealistic goals that we will never reach or bear no real relevance in our lives.
So what should we do? Start with a mind-mapping session about yourself. Ideally break it down into sections, e.g. health, relationships, career, financial, educational etc, you choose the subjects you want and brainstorm away. This will give you the base of your plan, which will allow you to break things down into more manageable sized sections so you can create smart goals.
Alternatively, the best way to make significant and lasting change is to work with a coach, somebody who is there to support, keep you on track and at times to challenge.
